 MARINE PATROLMalheur County has at least 57 square miles of waterways. Two marine deputies patrol these waterways. The State Marine Board has required that all Oregon resident boaters have to complete and pass an Oregon Marine Boaters Course. The Marine Board also requires that each boat upon their waterways be equipped with required equipment.
The marine division also does public safety and search and rescue. We also have to train yearly.
At anytime a boat is involved in an incident – accident, the operator need to file a boating accident report. (accident form) Link to the Oregon State Marine Board
